Environment

We are in a privileged place, you could say that Gor, the municipality where the Atochal Orígenes Cave Houses are located, is the door to the famous Granada Geopark.. This was declared a World Geopark by UNESCO in 2020.
As amazing as the GEOPARQUE DE GRANADA destination may seem, it has 7,722 km² covering the regions of GUADIX, BAZA, HUÉSCAR and MONTES.
This park is located in the heart of the Betic Mountain Range, surrounded by some of the highest peaks on the peninsula, such as the Sierra de la Sagra and Sierra Nevada. Since prehistoric times, the unique geology and climate of this area have deeply influenced the lives and cultural traditions of its inhabitants.
HEREYou will find more information, maps and guides to the territory.
If you allow us permission, the description of this destination is as unique as it is surprising. Known by some as the Spanish Colorado Canyon, by others as Iberian Cappadocia itself. This environment has a unique beauty that cannot be found anywhere else on the Iberian Peninsula.
These arid but beautifully unique lands protect a crucial and distinctive segment of Europe's geological heritage. The silent story of its rocks fascinates those who venture to know its deep history. Every year archeology lovers and geologists visit us in an incessant search for remains of the past.
The proximity to the city of the Alhambra is one of our best bets.
